Education Concert for elementary and middle schools
Schools who have signed up through the OSO office will be bussed to the Washington Center for the Performing Arts to experience a live symphony orchestra concert. Maestro Huw Edwards will cover everything from concert etiquette to music history, and will have demonstrations of each section of the orchestra. Children will hear selections from the October 5th concert, and teachers will have the opportunity to prepare for this event by receiving a lesson plan with vocabulary for their class. For more information, contact the OSO office.

Attend a Symphony
DRESS REHEARSAL:
Instead of
issuing vouchers for the concert, OSO is opening the Sunday afternoon dress rehearsal
for student observers. This will include a 15 minute introduction by Maestro Huw
Edwards to the students, explaining some of the finer points of playing symphony
music. The students will also get an opportunity to hear Maestro Edwards coach
the orchestra as they play the music for that evening’s performance, which
should be an eye opening experience.
Note:
you will be attending a working dress rehearsal of the Olympia Symphony Orchestra.
Please respect the time of the musicians and staff and do not disrupt the rehearsal. OSO
reserves the option of dismissing any or all rehearsal observers at any time. |
